MAKVALA KASRASHVILI 

 

  Kasrashvili Makvala Filimonovna (born in 1942) is a Soviet Georgian and Russian Opera singer (soprano). People's artist of the USSR . Laureate of the State prize of the Russian Federation and the State prize of the Georgian SSR named after Z. Paliashvili. 
  Since 1967 - soloist of the Bolshoi theater, which performed more than 30 leading roles, the best of which are considered to be Tatiana, Lisa, Iolanta ("Eugene Onegin", "Queen of spades"," Iolanta " P.. Tchaikovsky) and Dr. Kasrashvili-the first performer on the stage of the Bolshoi theater parties Tamar ("Abduction of the moon" O. Taktakishvili, 1977-world premiere), Wojlava ("Mlada" N. Rimsky-Korsakov, 1988), John ("the maid of Orleans" p. Tchaikovsky, 1990). Member of numerous tours of the Opera company (Paris, Milan, new York, etc.). The foreign debut took place in 1979 at the Metropolitan Opera (Tatiana's part). In 1983 she performed the role of Elizabeth ("don Carlos" J. Verdi) at the Savonlinna festival. In 1984 she made her debut in Covent garden as Donna Anna (Don Juan). 
   He conducts concert activities in Russia and abroad, performing, in addition to Opera, in chamber (romances P. Tchaikovsky, S. Rachmaninoff, M. de Falla, Russian and Western European sacred music) and cantata-oratorial genres. Since 2002-Managing creative collectives of the Opera troupe of the Bolshoi theatre of Russia, Assistant to the chief conductor-music Director.
